Shipments in the first half of 2026 increased year on year; deployment of residential and non-FIT PV systems through PPAs and other mechanisms are expected to drive further growth.<\/p>\n

  • The Japanese Photovoltaic Energy Association (JPEA) released the PV module shipment statistics for the quarter from April to June 2026 (first quarter of FY 2026)<\/li>\n
  • Total module shipments in the quarter decreased 5% year on year (yoy) to 1,222 MW, and 1,204 MW of which was for domestic shipments, a drop of 5% yoy<\/li>\n
  • By application, the shipment for utility-scale applications decreased by 14% to 419 MW, the shipment for residential applications by 3% yoy to 360 MW, whereas the shipment for commercial applications grew steadily, showing an increase of 2% yoy to 420 MW<\/li>\n
  • Domestic shipments in the first half of the year (January to June 2026) increased 8% yoy to 2,753 MW, comprising 767 MW for residential applications, up 3% yoy; 979 MW for commercial applications, up 13%; and 1,003 MW for utility-scale applications, up 8% yoy<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n
