Japan Solar Update: No.109 (Aug 12 ~ 16, 2024)
The Japan Photovoltaic Energy Association (JPEA) and the Japan Sewage Works Association (JSWA) have signed a comprehensive partnership agreement to expand the introduction of photovoltaic (PV) power at sewage treatment plants. Through this agreement, both associations will undertake the following initiatives:
-
- Exchanging Basic Information: Sharing the latest technologies and case studies to enhance mutual understanding.
- Holding Training Sessions and Seminars: Providing specialized knowledge and practical skills to members through workshops and seminars.
- Exchanging Information for Framework Establishment and Expansion: Collaborating on effective system design and operation methods to establish a solid framework for PV integration.
- Promoting Interactions Between Local Governments and Private Companies: Facilitating information exchange and cooperation between local governments and businesses to drive impactful projects.
The government has set a goal to introduce a total of 160,000 kW of PV systems to sewage treatment facilities nationwide by FY 2030. To achieve this target, the government and both associations will actively promote initiatives to expand the use of renewable energy.
