The Ministry of the Environment (MoE) has selected the “Project for Comprehensive Evaluation Analysis of PV Power Generation Facilities Utilizing Natural Capital” by Tokyu Land Corporation as part of its FY 2024 ‘Evaluation and Demonstration Project for Renewable Energy Promotion Technologies’ for the Simultaneous Realization of Nature Positive and Carbon Neutrality (including Solar Power Generation).

This project focuses on the appropriate management of vegetation underneath PV modules to harness the cooling effects of plant transpiration, thereby reducing the surface temperature of the panels. Additionally, it aims to enrich the natural ecosystem around renewable energy facilities 

MoE will conduct the demonstration tests to verify the effectiveness of this approach.
