Japan Solar Update: No.178 (Dec 8 ~ 12, 2025)

Hiroshima-based company TSP Co., Ltd. has announced the launch of its new ultra-thin, lightweight solar power generation panel “Perapera Solar (Shine)”. This innovative model can be retrofitted onto existing windows and other glass surfaces—allowing both daylight transmission and solar power generation at the same time.

The panel structure is designed to maintain natural brightness indoors while converting sunlight into energy. The product offers easy installation and removal, taking into account regular window cleaning and maintenance needs. Patent applications have been filed for its unique mounting mechanism.

According to TSP, installation is available for windows measuring at least W2260 mm × H3000 mm, with a clearance of 1.8 m or more from the floor to the lower edge of the panel. By enabling solar generation without compromising building design or interior lighting, Perapera Solar (Shine) presents a new solution for companies facing challenges such as limited rooftop space or insufficient structural load capacity. It also expands the possibilities for self-consumption PV systems and smart building applications in urban environments.

TSP has already gained recognition for its “Perapera Solar” series—known for its flexibility, light weight, and adaptability to various surfaces such as roofs, walls, and carports. The new “Shine” model enhances this versatility by adding light-transmitting capability, offering both environmental and aesthetic advantages.

Before installation, customers are encouraged to request a site simulation to verify sunlight conditions, structural suitability, and expected power generation. While detailed data such as actual light transmittance and power output have not yet been disclosed, this product represents a promising advancement in the integration of solar technology with architectural design. For facilities aiming to harmonize natural lighting and renewable energy, Perapera Solar (Shine) could be an ideal next-generation solution.
