Kyoto City of Kyoto Prefecture will strengthen its effort to achieve virtually zero CO2 emissions from FY 2023.

 

The city plans to install PV modules and other renewable energy facilities as well as storage batteries in 15 locations including shrines and temples while taking account of landscapes, setting the goal of installing them on 100 locations by 2030. PV modules are schedule to be installed on the arcades of three shopping streets including the Fushimi Otesuji shopping street of the city.

The city will also establish the Kyoto widearea renewable energy grid council (tentative name) with power generation companies and electric retailers and aims to achieve virtually zero CO2 emission related to electric power consumption by creating a scheme to cover the deficiency with electricity derived from renewable energy.
