Japan Solar Update: No.206 (June 22 ~ 26, 2026)
JPEA announced FY 2025 Japan’s shipments (Apr 2025 ~ Mar 2026). Since there is a time lag between shipments and installations, the two figures do not necessarily match, but trends such as trends by application can be grasped.

- The Japan Photovoltaic Energy Association (JPEA) released the PV module shipment statistics for the quarter from January to March in 2026, which has clarified the total PV module shipments in FY 2026 (April 2025 to March 2026)
- Total PV module shipments in FY 2025 increased by 13% year on year (YOY) to 6,215 MW, whereas domestic shipments also increased by 13% YOY to 6,186 MW
- By Application, shipments for residential applications increased by 14.6% YOY to 1,629 MW, whereas those for commercial applications decreased by 4.0% YOY to 2,033 MW. Utility-scale applications ecorded a significant increase of 31.3% with 2,524 MW. Commissioning FIT PV systems which had not started operation for a long time, and development of non-FIT projects through PPAs are advancing. Shipments for residential PV applications were strong, driven by joing purchase programs by local governments.
